Leadership Courses 101&102

Right-Brain Leadership 101™ – Leadership intermediate level

To put it simply, according to an old-fashioned model, Leadership is about achieving results by managing business deals and the people involved.

Today’s world requires holistic leaders who can lead from within using both rational and intuitive thinking skills. This involves the leader applying all his mental faculties, integrating both right and left hemisphere functions of the brain. In order to do that, however, s/he must focus essentially on him/herself as a leader, rather than on the subject matter.

Therefore, leadership is not only about managing people, being hard-core and creating a successful business anymore. It is much more about becoming inspiring, leading by example, creating value and contributing to the betterment of the world. Leadership is also about moving away from the above mentioned old-fashioned leadership model where the leader is supposed to be knowledgeable, capable, tough and feisty; and moving towards being creative, adaptable, having integrity, being self-aware, recognizing his/her passions and how to package all that in a well-defined niche -his/her personal leadership style.

All these wonderful qualities are available to us all, however, they can only be reached and developed by deepening your self-awareness and allowing your ‘righ-brain’ faculties to take up more dominion in your everyday life. As a result of our education system that sadly mostly emphasizes the use of the left-brain functions such as rational and logical thinking and almost completely ignores mindfulness and creativity, by the end of our education, we mostly lose touch with our more intuitive and creative thinking skills that are chiefly located in our right hemisphere.

Using our so-called ‘right-brain’ allows us to gain a deeper understanding of both ourselves and the world surrounding us. If we wish to become authentic and holistic leaders, we need to integrate the forgotten skills of the’right-brain’ and deepen our understanding of who we are and what we stand for.

We must remember that only that person can lead others with authenticity and integrity, who can become an inspiring leader in his/her own life.

This training approaches Leadership from a developmental angle instead of a mere business perspective. Leaders are human beings. We do not act and make our decisions only from our rational and logical so-called ‘left-brain’. Without using our ‘right-brain’ or creative and intuitive side our leadership will lack flavour. Practicality comes from being able to observe a situation from various point of views and integrating the complexity of others’ involvement in it.

This introductory leadership course is particularly designed for leaders of informal groups such as teachers, educators, etc.

Participants are asked to prepare a list of problem areas where they think they fail as leaders

The aim of the course is to gain an understanding of what right-brain functions are and what qualities creative leaders have. In order to achieve that participants will do practical exercises that support their self-discovery and the development of creative leadership habits.

Authentic Leadership 102™ – Leadership advanced level

To put it simply, according to an old-fashioned model, Leadership is about achieving results by managing business deals and the people involved.

Today’s world requires holistic leaders who can lead from within using both rational and intuitive thinking skills. This involves the leader applying all his mental faculties, integrating both right and left hemisphere functions of the brain. We must remember that only that person can lead others with authenticity and integrity, who can become an inspiring leader in his/her own life.

The so-called right side of the brain is where our creativity lies. Creativity derives from the Latin expression creare una vita (creating a life) that could be translated as co-creating or being part of creation. When we are aligned with who we are, what we stand for, and our God-given abilities, we get into something that Csikszentmihalyi calls ‘The Flow’. We become an authentic part of creation. Being part of creation means a great deal in terms of leadership because we become responsible leaders in our own lives and we get to determine what happens in it. We become inspiring through our own personal successes. Upon achieving that can only we offer to lead others.

Authentic Leadership training approaches leadership from a personal development angle claiming that one can only lead with integrity and authenticity when one is completely aligned with who s/he is, his/her innate qualities and what s/he stands for. In order to achieve that one must start digging and finding the hidden treasures inside and align his/her actions with what s/he finds within.

This course can only be taken as the second part of the Right-Brain Leadership™ course.
